Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective July 17, 2026. This policy is for everyone, and it also satisfies the consumer health data laws of Washington, Nevada, and Connecticut.

Some of what you share with Fine Is a Lie can reflect your mental or physical health, such as quiz answers about stress and fatigue, mood ratings, and journal entries. This page explains what health-related data we collect, why, who processes it, and how you can access or delete it. Our general Privacy Policy covers everything else.

What we collect

  • Your answers to the burnout quiz and the profile the quiz computes from them
  • Mood ratings and check-ins you record during the program
  • Journal entries and exercise responses, which may describe how you feel
  • The email address connected to any of the above, if you provide one

All of it comes directly from you. We never buy health information about you, pull it from other companies, or infer it from your browsing.

Why we collect it

We use this data for one purpose: running the program you asked for. Your quiz answers build your results page. Your moods, journal, and exercises are stored so the program can show your own progress back to you. We also look at fully aggregated, de-identified numbers (for example, how many people complete Day 10) to improve the course.

We do not sell consumer health data. We do not share it for advertising. We do not use it to target ads. There is no version of this where your quiz answers follow you around the internet.

Who processes it

Your health-related data is stored with Supabase (our database and backup provider) on servers in the United States. No other service provider receives it. Our payment, email, analytics, and error-tracking providers do not receive your quiz answers, moods, or journal content.

Within Fine Is a Lie, access is limited to the founder, for operating the service and responding when you ask for help.

Consent

Collecting this data is necessary to provide what you signed up for, and we ask for your agreement before the first collection (at the start of the quiz, and when you first open the journal). We do not use your health-related data for any purpose beyond the ones above, and if that ever changed, we would ask you first. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account or emailing us.

Your rights

You can ask us, at support@fineisalie.com, to:

  • Tell you what health-related data we hold about you
  • Give you a copy of it
  • Delete it

Deleting your account from your profile page removes your health-related data from our systems, including quiz answers stored before you created the account, under the same email. If you took the quiz without an account, email us from the address you used and we will delete those answers. We respond within 30 days. We will also tell any processor holding the data to delete it.

If we ever decline a request, we will explain why, and you can appeal by replying to our decision. We will answer your appeal within 45 days. Washington residents: if your appeal is unsuccessful, you may contact the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before the change applies to you.
